Our Managing Partner, Ranjan Narula spoke at the INTA Pre-Annual meeting roundtable organized by Khaitan & Co. in Mumbai on April 26, 2019. The speakers lineup included Sr. Counsel, Dr. Veerendra Tulzapurkar and Adheesh Nargolkar of Khaitan & Co As the roundtable coincided with the WORLD IP DAY and theme this year being IP and Sports, Ranjan spoke on growing engagement of fans with fantasy sports. In particular with IPL cricket league currently in progress, the space has witnessed frenzied activity with one of the operators Dream 11 being valued at $ 1 billion plus. The roundtable discussion covered how fantasy sports is creating deeper connect between sports fans and real life sports. At the same time challenges for sports organizers to balance fans passion with IP rights of teams, players, broadcasters and other stakeholders.
