Our Partner, Abhishek Nangia is a seasoned professional in advising clients of diverse sectors on a wide range of Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology (IT) issues in India as well as the Indian Sub-continent. Abhishek has closely worked with individuals, startups, Indian corporates and Fortune 500 companies in relation to brand clearance, IP protection and enforcement, pre-litigation mediation, IP due diligence, IP commercialisation, drafting and vetting of contracts, Information Technology Rules, 2021 and recent amendments, evolving e-commerce regulations drafting of Brand Usage Policy, Privacy Policy etc.
Abhishek joined RNA in 2009 and with over 17 years of experience, Abhishek has been instrumental in developing creative strategies suited to the business needs and is an expert in handling contentious and non-contentious matters before various forums, advertising/media clearance, legal framework and practical issues surrounding misleading advertising practices in India. Abhishek has successfully handled several Domain Name Disputes before WIPO and .IN Registry and has also successfully assisted various brand owners in numerous show cause hearings, opposition, cancellation matters, obtaining well-known declaration before the Trademarks office and proceedings before the Regional Director at the Ministry of Company Affairs.
He regularly writes articles that have been published in print and electronic media including ENISHI magazine by the Japan Patent office, International Trademarks Association, Trademark Lawyer Magazine, Managing IP, Lexology, World Trademark Review etc. and has addressed custom and police officials, Chartered Accountants, law institutes, government organisations on IT Law, IP protection, IP prosecution, IP enforcement and IP issues in cyberspace and is also active on LinkedIn.
