Our Partner, Abhishek Nangia was invited by Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) on August 7, 2020 for conducting online interactive session on ‘Trademarks’. The audience comprised of 60 school teachers across India. Abhishek discussed various types of trademarks, importance of trademarks to the consumers and business, easy access to counterfeit goods, harmful effects of counterfeit products on the brand owner and economy. The session was very extremely interactive and generated intense discussions.

During the Q&A session, the teachers asked questions about the procedure, timeline of trademark registration, advantages of obtaining registration, remedies available to consumer, brand owner to deal with counterfeit goods, misuse of famous marks, how to distinguish between real and counterfeit products. The teachers shared that they were aware of fake products of well-known brands available online portals at discounted prices and narrated their personal experiences how they were unknowingly duped!
